My Approach to Therapy

Understanding the patterns that shape your life

My work is grounded in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, which means we look beneath surface problems to understand the deeper patterns that shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Together, we’ll explore how past experiences and early relationships influence how you show up today—at work, in relationships, and with yourself.

  • Many of my clients are men and young professionals who’ve learned to power through stress or success while feeling disconnected underneath. In therapy, we slow down and pay attention to what’s happening internally and relationally—what gets said and what doesn’t. This process helps reveal long-standing defenses and emotional patterns that once protected you but may now keep you stuck.
  • Our work is collaborative, thoughtful, and paced to your needs. As insight grows, you begin to live with more clarity, confidence, and authenticity—less bound by old patterns, and more connected to yourself and the people who matter most.

Our sessions create a consistent, supportive space where difficult memories and emotions can be processed and integrated. Over time, new ways of experiencing yourself and others can emerge.

Who Can Benefit From Therapy

Therapy can be helpful for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Many of the people I work with are men and young professionals who feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected—even when life appears to be going well on the surface.

Men in today’s world face unique challenges that require skilled attention, yet their struggles are often overlooked. Many assume men “have it easy,” but the truth is that many men are quietly hurting. Male emotional pain often hides beneath competence, responsibility, achievement, and restraint. We’re taught to be strong, but too often that strength becomes silence. While society has rightly focused on addressing historical inequality, men’s pain remains minimized and men are being left behind. Many men feel uncertain about their place in the world or fear being judged for what they feel or believe, leading to isolation.

I understand this personally—the feeling of being on the outside, of not belonging. The mask works for a while, but over time the pain takes its toll on relationships, motivation, and vitality. I see therapy as a space to listen closely to those experiences—to make sense of what’s been carried alone, and to help men reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve had to hide.

Through psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, we uncover the deeper roots of these struggles, helping you move toward greater self-understanding, emotional connection, and authenticity.

You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong, only that something in your life doesn’t feel quite right. If you’re longing to understand yourself more deeply, and to feel understood in return, therapy may be the right place for you.
